RenderStreet at its second Startup Spotlight competition @ How to Web 2013

Last updated on by .

On 20-21st of November, all the tech scene of Central and Eastern Europe was in Bucharest, attending How to Web event, organized by Bogdan Iordache and his team. RenderStreet was selected, among other 32 finalists, to take part in the Startup Spotlight competition, a valuable experience taking us closer to the next stages of our business.

How to Web is dedicated to the online tech industry, with keynotes from company CEOs, investors, serial entrepreneurs, start-up accelerator officials, designers, web journalists and we’ve never missed any edition, since 2009.

RenderStreet qualified for the second year in the Startup Spotlight competition and the experience was different, in a good way. Last year, RenderStreet was in closed beta. So, while we did have some interest from our testers, only us and them knew what a great product we had. At this year’s competition the service is at a different stage – 8 months after the public release. Our paying customers and their fantastic feedback have been of great help.

We also had more experience in presenting our business and better managed the on-stage presence. Plus, we knew what questions we wanted to ask in the mentoring sessions. We met a lot of great people and got invaluable feedback from them. And this – and not necessarily the contest – was the real value of the event.

There were a wealth of new opportunities for RenderStreet at How to Web. An important one was our enrollment in the SoftLayer Catalyst program. Of course, there were plenty of others, including meeting awesome mentors, investors and getting to know new people. It’s always interesting to hang out with people smarter than you, so we appreciate the opportunity offered by How to Web.
