We’ve been working for a while now on the technology layer on which RenderStreet is based. A lot of internal components have been upgraded, and others are in the process of being upgraded and will be released in the near future.
The Blender add-on has already received a significant upgrade. While the basic functionality has remained the same (a future update will add new features), the new version has a couple of advantages over the old one.
The installation procedure is now easier. You can install the new RenderStreet plug-in as you would install any other Blender add-on. Just click on the ‘Install’ button in the Preferences menu, select the zip archive and enable it. That’s it, job done.
The second advantage is the upload technology. We have upgraded it to match our new platform, and the result is that you’ll upload faster and trouble-free. The new plug-in is also less affected by custom firewall rules, so it will work without any additional configuration in the majority of cases. This means more time available for you to work on your project instead of waiting for uploads or troubleshooting installations.
The new plug-in version is already available in your RenderStreet account, for Blender versions 2.80 and newer. You can start using it to send your renders to our farm immediately.
